My last three periods have been 12-16 days late. I'm considering talking to my doctor about it bcuz I should be normal by now. I am 16 and have been getting them for about 3 years now. It kind of worries me bcuz I worry I might have some sort of serious problem. Any suggestions?

@ : You do not want it trust me, when you get your period its a painful 5 to 7 days where your hips shift and seperate so that you can eject uterus lining and blood (its like mini labor) some women faint from the pain, there's cramps and soreness and you get gasdy and nauseus and everytime you stand up it feels like a waterfall just gushed from your vagins, and sleeping is like impossible.

@ : Your probably in 5th grade right now. Your friends are probably lying because they think it's cool when vaginas gush blood and you feel like your wearing a diaper. Live your period free life now, you can swim whenever you want, you don't have to walk around feeling your butt (to make sure there's no leaks) all the time, you won't have to go shopping for pads and check to make sure none of the boys from your school are there, ect. I know how you feel, before I had my period I wanted it so badly, but now I wish I could choose the days I have it. It's not as fun or cool as it may seem. -B

@ : This.. is not true lol. Your hips do not shift and separate once a month. A normal part of puberty, generally between 11 to 17, is that your hips widen. This happens gradually and you likely will not notice it. Periods are 3 to 7 days average, yes. But they should not be horrifically painful. If they disturb your life or hurt badly, see your doctor or a naturopath. I am a big fan of natural remedies, but you have to be careful. :) You can also use things like heat pads or warm water bottles to help cramping. Gas and nausea can happen and I admit it can be pretty hard some times, but there are a lot of options for coping with it. If you are fainting and have heavy blood loss, you may need to have your iron levels tested. It's nothing like labour, trust me, I have done that too lol. ^_^ Try not to worry. It will happen when it's time.. Don't rush it!! It's not fun but we all have it some day.

@ : You can always use tampons in such conditions. They work well when you go in water.

@ : I am 12 years old too and got my period 6 months ago. Trust me. You do NOT want to start getting your period. If your friend s are mean to you about not getting your period tell them, "well at least I can swim whenever I want and I don't need to gush blood for an entire week" But because I said this, don't be scared when your period does come. Have fun while you still don't get your period! Ps. I know what I'm about to say may sound a little mean, but if you really want to, you can tell your friends that you got it when you actually didn't. People can't tell when your on your period or not. Hope this helped.

@ : Don't worry if your period comes late. It takes up to about 2 to 3 years for your period to develop a pattern. Don't worry nothing is wrong with you, your body is still developing. When you are older you will have a more regular schedule.

Hey, I want my period so badly and I have my reasons. I have to take estrogen because there is something that runs in my mothers side and of course, I'm the one who got that gene. My body doesn't produce estrogen and I may not ever get my period. Honestly, nobody's telling me much of anything about it and I don't know what to do. I want to have kids and grand kids but I need my period to get pregnant and ugh! Just please help me.

So, I haven't had my period sinice sometime last month, but recently (about 2-3 weeks ago) I had a really light period that only lasted maybe a day or 2. It started to worry me as to why that mau happen. My boyfriend and I were both freaking out and started looking up a bunch of stuff and it said it could either be from being pregnant, stress, weight change, etc. Is this true? I'm pretty confident that I am not pregnant, so do you think it's from stress and weight issues? I have a lot of that
