Almost all people have experienced sharp pain around or in the temple. Minor pains are easy to treat, while sever pains could be a health concern.

@ : If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much. I have just the same symptom as you said once in a while myself. But if it concers you a lot, it's better to go see a doctor to identify what your cause could be.

@ : Have you experienced a lot of stress and pressure lately? Or there's something in life or work that bothers you a lot? cuz headache is associated with our nervous system, and it has a huge impact on our NS. But it's not that worrisome since sharp pains that most of us had once in a while may not be something too serious in most cases. I think you can wait for a while to see if the symptoms would go away itself, meanwhile try doing something that can make you relax, like listening to music when you got time. If your sharp pain persists, in that case it's better that you go and visit your doc to rule out any other possible underlying problems.

Kathey - your symptoms sounds similar to those having a stroke. "Slurred speech, eye issues" another similarity is diabetes. I wouldn't wait and seek immediate qualified medical assistance. If you are concerned about diabetes, have the doc check your A1C levels - by checking that, it's very specific. Some doctors only check the hemoglobin and sugar which could give a false result. Good luck.

From a chronic migraine sufferer (15+ years/20 or more days with a migraine per month) there is NOT always some kind of warning as the article states. Migraines are commonly associated with "auras" and other types of precursors but they are unique to the individual and do not always come with a "warning". Sometimes I will just get one and they don't always "grow", they can be like waves of pain or it can the constant, there is sadly was too little information out there for migraines.

i have been having sharp pains on the (R) side of my head m=now for 5 days now. I take Topromax 200 mg daily for my migraines. Sometimes these pains have me seeing halos and bright flashes. Is this something that i should be worried about or will it go away on it's own. Depending on how I'm laying in the bed, some times, I get short winded and stiffness in the neck area along the side. Again, I'm not sure if this is anxiety attacks or if I should stop doing what I'm doing and seek medical attention. Please assist me in this matter. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I'm a 16 year old female. I get unbearable headaches very often. They are often in my temples and back of my head. Usually more painful on the left side. I get dizzy very often and lately my eyes seem to become blurry and irritable at times. Does anyone have any clues on this?

@ Lois m Bias I am currently taking topimax 200mg myself and having the same exact symptoms. I currently was at a dr appointment with my mom and chatting with her Dr and she was telling me I needed to see a dentist and get treated for tmj and I did. My dentist put me on a muscle relaxer for tmj and it has worked great for the pain in my right side of my head and stiffness in my neck. Hope this helps.
